Kenya has been threatened by al-Shabaab an Al Qeada linked, Somali terrorist group. It is assumed that the threat was delivered because of Kenya stepped up security measures and the fact that it is the most powerful economy in East Africa. Those who assumed that Kenya could not cope with such a threat are being proven wrong.
Yesterday, April 23rd, according to a Reuters report Kenyan security forces “had arrested three Somali al Shabaab rebels in the nation’s northeast and seized bomb making materials, a day after giving an alert on possible attacks during Easter.”
This adds to the seven young men who were attempting to join Somalia’s Al-Qaeda linked group, Al-shabaab, fighting against AU peacekeepers in Mogadishu back in November, 2010.
