On Sunday Goodluck Jonathan began his first full term as president of Nigeria. On the same day, in the northern Nigerian city, Bauchi, bombs went off killing fifteen and leaving scores wounded. The city lays within a region that the majority of people support the revolutionary stances of Boko Haram, Nigeria’s most active and most feared terrorist group.
Last year, Boko Haram claimed responsibility for bombings in the city of Jos on Christmas Eve. Those bombings killed dozens of people shopping in a busy market in a predominantly Christian neighborhood.
